When to book your newborn session - Tri-Cities, WA Newborn Photographer

A question I get a lot from potential clients is, when should I book my newborn session and how do you set a session date if I don't know when baby is going to arrive?

• I highly suggest booking your newborn session while you are still pregnant! I only take a selected number of newborns per month in order to accommodate babies that either arrive earlier or after their due dates. I tend to book out 2-3 months in advance, however, sometimes I do have last minute availability depending upon my workload - so if you are reading this and you just had a baby, always reach out to double check availability.

• Of course, babies arrive on their own sweet timelines, so we will schedule a tentative session date approximately 7-10 days after your "due date". Once baby arrives, I ask that you shoot me a text or an email to let me know and then we can set a solid date and time. I like to schedule newborn sessions during the weekdays, but I can accommodate a weekend session during school time for any school aged siblings. I prefer to photograph newborns by 5-10 days fresh but newborn sessions can be successfully done up to 21 days. After 21 days, newborns tend to have more alert periods, so earlier the better.
